We, the Kanu Schwaben Augsburg, are a group of canoe enthusiasts and at the same time a very successful canoe club with numerous German champions, world champions and Olympic champions.
On 04 and 05 December 2021 we will organize a virtual charity run and invite you to be part of it!
Instead of a starting fee we would love to see a voluntary donation to our partner Plant-for-the-Planet. For every $1,25 a tree will be planted.

What’s this about?
Every time you donate a tree it gets planted on the Yucatán peninsula in Mexico by our partner Plant-for-the-Planet. Every tree helps combat the climate crisis by capturing carbon from the atmosphere and storing it in itself and the soil. We, from Kanu Schwaben Augsburg, are a group of canoeing enthusiasts and a very successful canoeing club with numerous national champions, world champions and last but not least Olympic champions. Nature is our home and our basecamp for many of our sporting activities.
Besides the element water, the forest plays a major role in our daily life: Our clubhouse belongs to the beautiful Olympic Park of the City of Augsburg, which has been granted UNESCO world heritage for its long-lasting water tradition.
For the Olympic Games 1972 in Munich, the first ever artificial canoe slalom course had been built, with its canoe slalom events being held on the Eiskanal in Augsburg. Since then, is has been a blueprint for many other artificial courses worldwide. It is unique in so many ways and an outstanding venue with its embedding in the nearby Siebentisch forest.
Nevertheless, over the many years of use, it was necessary to refurbish the buildings and the venue infrastructure. During the construction works some of the trees had to go, so it is our goal to replant most of them. We want our kids and grandchildren to be able to enjoy our sport in a healthy and sustainable environment.
But a couple of trees is not enough for us, we want a whole Kanu Schwaben Augsburg forest. And here we need your help. By organizing all sorts of events we bring people together to donate and help planting trees with one click!
